Happy Birthday, Olivia!! I can hardly believe that she’s one. It doesn’t feel like a year since she was born…how quickly it went by!
I had so much fun planning Olivia’s First Birthday Party! The theme was pink and gold…and all things sparkly! Here are some pictures and details of the big day!…
The birthday girl in her first outfit of the day!…
And I have to show off the adorable gold glitter crown I bought, which Olivia absolutely refused to wear…
Detail shots of the decorations…
I set up a photo wall with a gold fringe curtain and tassle garland…
When I use this idea again, I will double up on the gold fringe curtain because I felt a single layer looked too thin…but since I only set it up the night before I didn’t have time to order more.
Of course, the food was also important! I love the Baguettinis from Perfect Picnic…
Something for everyone! Yogurt chips and puffs for the little ones…
And I couldn’t help myself when I found these personalized water bottle labels…
Since I could not find any pink plates with gold polka dots, I DIY’d them myself. I bought simple square pink plates and gold dot stickers and created the pattern myself…
I made the cupcakes (a vanilla cake with a hint of cinnamon and a cream cheese frosting) from scratch. Lucky for me, one of my besties, Audra Fullerton, runs a very successful baking blog called The Baker Chick. I consulted with her on the recipe I planned to use for the cupcakes…and she graciously offered to ice the cupcakes and the top small cake on the tray.
Since Audra and I have babies that were born only a week apart, she also had made a small and not-as-sugary smash cake for her son’s party and she made one for Olivia too. You can find the recipe here.
The smash cake was so successful that it was time for a new outfit for Olivia…
We were so grateful that family and friends could share this happy day with us!!…
We had so much fun celebrating our amazing little girl!!

Aww…thanks!! And by the way, I loved that tassle garland so much that it is now permanently hanging in Olivia’s room!
