- Katie is the mom to 1 beautiful little girl, Olivia.
- Nancy is the nana to 3 amazing grandchildren.
- Katie was a dancer for most of her life and was a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall…back in the day.
- Nancy holds a carnival in her backyard every year for a local charity.
- Katie fancies herself a New Yorker, having lived there for 17 years. Although she lives in Cincinnati now, NYC will always have a special place in her heart.
- According to Nancy, she doesn’t spoil her grandkids, she’s just very “accommodating”. According to Katie, “accommodating” means the word “no” is not in Nancy’s vocabulary!!
- Katie has an obsession with nail polish…and feels naked without it.
- Nancy’s favorite song to get down to at a wedding is “Love Shack”.
- Nancy & Katie have such similar tastes, that they tend to buy the same things…i.e.: moto jackets, bags, scarves. They frequently have to call each other to make sure they don’t wear the same thing.
I'm Katie!
I am the mama behind Styled by Mama! Olivia is my daughter and she is the inspiration behind it all. Together with my husband, Anthony, we live in Cincinnati, OH. Before our move to the Queen City, we lived in NYC for 17 years.
My professional background is varied with a career earlier on in musical theatre…to my second career for the last 10 years in sales in high-end decorative plumbing, working with the architect and interior design industry in New York City and throughout the country.
I have always loved good design, whether it’s a piece of furniture, clothing, a toy, a vignette, or a cover of a book…I am drawn to pretty things. I would describe my design aesthetic as modern and feminine, playful yet sophisticated…and I can’t resist a touch of glam. I love metallics, glitter…and all things sparkly! Gray is my favorite neutral and I love to add pops of bright colors in my wardrobe and in my home. I have always been conscious of the design of my home and my closet and have had a passion for interior design and fashion for as long as I can remember.
When I was pregnant with Olivia, I started to design her nursery and create a baby registry. I quickly realized that I wasn’t finding the designs I was seeking very easily. I had decided on a Parisian theme for her room, but I wasn’t interested in poodles and Eiffel Towers everywhere. I wanted something cute and playful, but elegant and a style she could grow with. And I wasn’t excited about the design of the baby products in the popular stores. I was looking for toys and activity centers that would also mesh with the design of my home…and this was not an easy task. Of course, not every toy will match my aesthetic, but I started having fun exploring different websites to find products that were more in line with my style. I found myself heavily researching everything…from the crib bedding to the prints to the rocker and the mobile. While it might not have been easy, I did settle on products that I love. And that is when the spark of inspiration for this store began.
Styling my daughter and our space has grown from a hobby to a passion, so my mom and I decided to create this store to share our design-driven discoveries in fashion and interiors…mainly for the little ones, but also for the mamas.
I'm Nancy!
I have lived all of my life in Cincinnati and just celebrated my 45th wedding anniversary with my husband, Frank. We live in a 200 year old house that I have decorated and re-decorated for the last 40 years. My decorating style for our home started out as “country”, but my design sense has evolved over time and now the house is modern, yet classic. I love interior design and making our house the place that we love coming home to.
I am proud of many things in this life, but nothing beats being the mother of my two precious girls! Both of my girls inspire me and challenge me to grow and stretch in many different areas of my life. Running Styled by Mama with Katie and volunteering with my daughter, Robyn, in her classroom where she serves as a reading specialist are just two of the ways that I can both follow my passions and have fun with my girls.
In addition, my greatest treasures in the world call me “Nana.” I used to think that I was too old to fall in love again, but then I became a grandma. The truth is that there is nothing in my life that has made me feel younger, happier and more alive. Spending time with Mary, Patrick and Olivia wears me out, but also energizes my spirit. These little ones are also my inspiration for the Styled by Mama brand.
As a former teacher, I have spent decades in the field of education. As the director of an enrichment program for the gifted and talented, I personally designed, developed and organized programs of enrichment for children in grades one through eight. These programs emphasized in-depth enrichment topics with a foundation of creative and critical thinking skills. In addition, I planned and coordinated school wide enrichment assemblies throughout the school year. I was most proud of initiating and organizing numerous Invention Conventions for the primary school division. As an educator of gifted students, I promoted creativity and a love of learning in each of my students which I now carry on through my grandchildren and the struggling readers that I work with. Through Styled by Mama my goal is to use my experience by promoting toys, games and in-store events that are not only fun, but creative and educational…and always with a modern flare.

As a mom and daughter team, we are like two peas in a pod. We both have an eye for design and have been passionate about styling our homes for years. Combining our passion for design and our love of kids, Styled by Mama is a labor of love for us.
Our vision at Styled by Mama is to design and curate a collection of products that are modern and whimsical. Our goal is to feature products that are fun for kids…but styled with the design-driven, modern mom in mind. Providing a large selection of baby and child products that are contemporary and unique…modern moms need look no further. Toys, decor, and clothes with designs that are modern and playful, yet timeless and sophisticated…and maybe a touch of sparkle — ok, always a touch of sparkle!!
